After years of research,
Charlene and her team were
determined to marry
“toxic-free” to luxury
formulations to nourish
the body and mind.
And that is when CHARLÍS was born!
After many years of producing content that has helped bring awareness to millions of people around the globe about our problem in the beauty industry (a dirty little secret that we exposed) concerning large amounts of hormone disruptors and other toxins which have crept into most modern day conventional products in the skincare and beauty industry, Charlene knew she had to formulate toxic free products that were also luxurious as well as toxic-free. The problem she found was that many of the greatest feeling conventional products that had that “luxury” feel on the skin were absolute toxic pollution to the health, mind, and body. The problem she found when she started using “all natural” and “non-toxic” products was two fold:
1. The “non-toxic” skin care and beauty products still contained up to 49% toxic ingredients.
2. These “non-toxic” beauty care products did not have the same luxury feel and silky finish on the skin. They seemed to lack that high end feel and glow she had grown accustomed to using.
CHARLÍS formulated many different rounds of different products and recently launched our CHARLÍS Face Collection.

What is the difference between?
"Non-Toxic" vs. "Toxic-Free"
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) defines a “toxic” product as one that “can produce personal injury or illness to humans when it is inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed through the skin.” The product also must kill 50% (or more) of a group of lab rats to be considered “toxic.” Amazingly, if a substance kills 49% of its test subjects, it can still legally label itself “non-toxic”!
According to the ToxicFree Foundation, a “Toxic Free” product “has been created without the use of any potentially toxic, carcinogenic, or poisonous ingredients that could be questionable in safety.” ToxicFree certified products are guaranteed to be completely free from harmful chemicals, contain only ingredients that are 100% natural and from the earth, and manufactured sustainably and are safe for the environment.

ALPINE ROSE
Grown on the slopes of the Alps, Alpine Rose (aka Rhododendron) eliminates senescent skin cells, increases skin elasticity, nourishes skin stem cells, and helps reduce and repair damage caused by environmental stressors like UV radiation. BUDDLEJA DAVIDII EXTRACT
Commonly called the "butterfly bush," this fragrant flowering plant has proven a valuable skin care ingredient due to its anti-aging benefits. The fast-growing shrub is shown to help protect skin from photo damage, oxidative stress, and UV radiation.
CITRUS AURANTIUM BERGAMIA
Extracted from the fruit of a small tree, this sweet-smelling oil is great for toning, cleansing and gently antiseptic. It soothes skin irritations, minimizes the look of scars and other marks on the skin, and also helps even out skin tone by influencing melanin production.

The essential oil from the rind of the orange, this oil has demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, skin lightening, and anti-microbial properties and can be beneficial in skin care formulations. Hesperidin has also been shown to offer skin protection against UVA-induced damage of fibroblasts and collagen.
